Native American Health Insurance

Keep your tribal or Indian Health Service care.

Get more coverage. Pay less for it.

Show Me My Plans

If you're a member of a federally recognized Tribe or an ANCSA shareholder, you have special enrollment rights and savings through the Health Insurance Marketplace — no Open Enrollment window required.

Your Benefits

Keep Your I/T/U Care

Stay with your Indian Health, Tribal, or Urban Indian provider. Enrolling in a Marketplace plan doesn't change that — and it brings more funding back into I/T/U services.

Wider Access to Care

Add coverage for care beyond what IHS, Tribal, or Urban Indian programs offer, so you're not limited when you need a specialist or facility outside that system.

Zero Cost Sharing Plans

Depending on your income, you could qualify for a plan with no deductibles, no copays, and no coinsurance — you'd pay nothing out of pocket when you get care.

Lower Monthly Cost

Premiums still apply, but most Tribal members and ANCSA shareholders qualify for tax credits that bring the monthly cost down significantly.

Enroll Any Time — No Waiting for Open Enrollment

Members of federally recognized Tribes and ANCSA shareholders can enroll in a Marketplace plan any month of the year, not just during Open Enrollment. You can also switch plans up to once a month if your needs change

To enroll, you'll need one of the following:

  • A document from a federally recognized Tribe showing membership (e.g., a Tribal enrollment card)

  • A document showing ANCSA Corporation or Alaska Native village/Tribe shareholder status
